Spartan 66 2011 Ranking #55

The Michigan State Spartans won a share of the Big Ten title in 2010. Last year, SpartanDigest.com looked in-depth at sixty-six Spartans and their importance to the team's success. We look at 66 Spartans as 1966 was the last time MSU won a National Championship. It is now time to look at the #55 ranked Spartan in 2011.

Donavon Clark

SD 2011 Ranking : #55

Position: Offensive Line

Experience : True Freshman

Strengths : Enters Michigan State with the size to compete early.

Weakness : True freshman who has a lot to learn over the next year.

Donavon Clark was one of those players we questioned having on the list. However, with questions along the offensive line, there could be a chance Clark gets a chance to be on the depth chart early in his career. The hope would be for him to redshirt.

Overall : Clark is one of those rare high school offensive linemen who enters college with the physical size to compete early. However, the question will be if Mark Dantonio and his coaches want to use up a year or keep Clark hidden for a year.

Why He Made The List : The potential of Donavon Clark and the question marks along the offensive line made us place Clark in the rankings. Our best guess is he'll take a redshirt year, but you just never know as there are just too many questions along the line to leave him off.
