Spartan 66 2011 Ranking #46

The Michigan State Spartans won a share of the Big Ten title in 2010. Last year, SpartanDigest.com looked in-depth at sixty-six Spartans and their importance to the team's success. We look at 66 Spartans as 1966 was the last time MSU won a National Championship. It is now time to look at the #46 ranked Spartan in 2011.

Bennie Fowler

SD 2011 Ranking : #46

Position: Wide Receiver

Experience : Redshirt Sophomore

Strengths : Good physical size and athletic ability.

Weakness : Continue working on the finer points of being a top receiver.

Solid backup who proved his worth last season as a receiver and special teams player. Could be ranked higher, but with players ahead of him he should continue to show great progress and push for major time in 2012.

Overall : Player who continues to get better and if not for some depth ahead of him would be pushing for a starting position. Played key role in the second biggest play of the season with "Mouse Trap" against Northwestern. Solid receiver and special team's player.

Why They Made The List : This could be a ranking we look back upon at the end of the season and feel we were too low. Proved during the 2010 season he's got the skill package to be a player to make big plays and his continued growth should show even more this fall. Multi-dimensional threat who gives the Spartans depth as a receiver and kick returner.
