Spartan 66 2011 Ranking #45

The Michigan State Spartans won a share of the Big Ten title in 2010. Last year, looked in-depth at sixty-six Spartans and their importance to the team's success. We look at 66 Spartans as 1966 was the last time MSU won a National Championship. It is now time to look at the #45 ranked Spartan in 2011.

Tyquan Hammock

SD 2011 Ranking : #45

Position: Linebacker

Experience : Redshirt Sophomore

Strengths : Physical player with good physical size.

Weakness : Finding a position and getting reps.

TyQuan Hammock showed his willingness to get on the field by moving from linebacker to fullback in the first month of the 2010 season. The move helped the team but may have slowed his development as a linebacker. Now the Fort Wayne, Indiana native is back on the defensive side of the ball and looking to do more than just special teams.

Overall : Should be in the fight as a key back up at the middle linebacker spot this fall. Solid player on special teams.

Why They Made The List : With Greg Jones gone many have penciled in Max Bullough as the starter. Hammock will look to push for reps against Bullough and Steve Gardiner while also giving the Spartans a solid special teams guy.
