Spartan 66 2011 Ranking #37

The Michigan State Spartans won a share of the Big Ten title in 2010. Last year, looked in-depth at sixty-six Spartans and their importance to the team's success. We look at 66 Spartans as 1966 was the last time MSU won a National Championship. It is now time to look at the #38 ranked Spartan in 2011.

John Deyo

SD 2011 Ranking : #37

Position: Offensive Guard/Tackle

Experience : Redshirt Junior

Strengths : Great physical size at 6-foot-6, 300-pounds who is versatile along the offensive line.

Weakness : Game tested snaps when it matters most.

Overall : Deyo has carved out a nice niche the past couple of seasons working on special teams and taking reps wherever the Spartans coaching staff places him. Will be a key player to the squad as a back-up to Joel Foreman.

Why They Made The List : Deyo is another of the several offensive linemen waiting to have a breakout season. Has the physical skills but must continue to build his overall game. Valuable special teams player.
