Five Questions: Ohio State

Week Five has Michigan State on the road at Ohio State for their first Big Ten test of the season. Last week's blowout win over Central Michigan still left questions. Dave Berk is back with five pressing questions.

Last week's battle against close friend Dan Enos carries over against another close friend Luke Fickell. Mark Dantonio was able to post 45 points on Enos, can he come close to the same against Fickell?

This question leads us to our five questions/points of interest Spartan fans should consider before kick-off.

Question One: With another week together, will the Michigan State offensive line started to gel?

Right tackle Fou Fonoti gets his second start of his Spartans career. How Fonoti and Dan France do during the week could be the difference in the Spartans leaving Columbus with a win or a loss.

Question Two: Will quarterback Kirk Cousins look sharp against the Buckeyes?

Despite the blowout against CMU, senior quarterback Kirk Cousins didn't look his sharpest. The Saprtans need Cousins to have a solid game in all phases if they hope to start of Big Ten play 1-0.

Question Three: Can the Spartans running game overpower the Buckeyes defensive front?

Power vs. power will be tested on Saturday as the Buckeyes pride themselves on being able to stop the run and the Spartans love to run.

Question Four: Can the Spartans pressure freshman quarterback Braxton Miller into making a key mistake?

Miller is going to be a great quarterback at Ohio State. However, Saturday is only his second career start and he's still learning. A key mistake by Miller could set the tone for the game.

Question Five: Can the Spartans take advantage of Ohio State's youth in the secondary?

Ohio State enters the game with a couple of young players in their secondary. If the running game can get going, things could open up for B.J. Cunningham and Keshawn Martin.
