Spartans Key To Victory Over Michigan

Spartan Digest gives you our keys to victory against Michigan on Saturday.

Here are a few "Key" things Michigan State must do on Saturday to beat Michigan. CONTROL THE LINE OF SCRIMMAGE

The Spartans still growing offensive line must control Mike Martin and the rest of the Wolverines front four if the Spartans are to have success on Saturday. They must also bring the same pressure they showed against Ohio State when they go against David Molk, Patrick Omameh and company.

Game atmosphere is always big in big games and this one is the biggest game the Spartans have played at home so far this season. A strong early showing should have Spartan Stadium roaring with approval and players will feed of the emotion during the whole game.

There is no mistaking the talents of Robinson when he is lose and running the football. If you can contain him between the tackles and force him to throw the ball you have a better chance of coming away with a victory.

RUN THE FOOTBALL It is no secret the Spartans want to run the football. However, the running attack of a year ago has yet to be seen fully in 2011 and it needs to return Saturday for the Spartans offense to be balanced and capable of a win.

PLAY SOLID SPECIAL TEAMS While there have not been any "Little Giants" plays this season, overall special teams have been ok. Saturday, all facets of special teams must be played at a high level.

SPREAD THE FOOTBALL AROUND When another receiver besides B.J. Cunningham connects with Kirk Cousins the offense will have a better chance to sustain drives and place more points on the scoreboard.

PLAY A CLEAN GAME If the Spartans can play a penalty clean game they should be in position to add another victory over the Wolverines. Rivalary games have a way of bringing out the worse in people and the ones that keep a cooler head will have a better chance of winning the game.
