While there is a chance for the Spartans and Badgers to meet again this season, Saturday night will give the Spartans another chance to show the Big Ten where the program stands.
Here are several keys for the Spartans to have success against the Badgers.
RUN THE FOOTBALL FROM THE START Last week's outburst by Edwin Baker will be needed against Wisconsin on Saturday night. Baker or Le'Veon Bell must bring their "A" games for the Spartans to have a chance to win.
LEAVE Michigan BEHIND THEM Michigan was last week and now all thoughts should be on the Badgers and the chance to beat ranked teams in back-to-back weeks as they did a year ago.
GET THE CROWD INTO THE GAME EARLY Spartan Nation showed up last week against Michigan and this week could be even more impressive with it being Homecoming and a night game. If the Spartans can get out of the gate fast, look for fans to be in super hyper mode.
LEAVE OFF FIELD DISTRACTIONS OFF THE FIELD The week was filled with talk of William Gholston and if he would be in this game or not. The Big Ten Conference made the choice to suspend the Spartans defensive end and someone must step up and take his place for this week.
PRESSURE Russell Wilson How much pressure has Wilson really felt this season? That question will be answered Saturday night when the Spartans defense looks to continue their pressure that has resulted in 17 sacks the past two games.
KEEP Montee Ball AND JAME WHITE IN CHECK You can allow each to have a carry or two but you must shut down this duo of top running backs if the Spartans want a chance to be on the positive side of the scoreboard.
CONTROL THE CLOCK Mark Dantonio teams when they run the ball and control the clock have great success. The more the Spartans can control the clock, the more Wilson and crew are sitting on the sidelines.
WIN TURNOVER BATTLE Last weekend's turnovers could have changed the outcome of the game. This weekend the Spartans need to keep hold of the football and not give Wisconsin easy field position.
