Madaris and his teammates came away with the win and will advance to the regional championship game next weekend. However, Middletown quarterback Jalin Marshall was the offensive star of the night.
Marshall, who already holds offers from Ohio State and Notre Dame to name a few, is also hearing from the Spartans and showed why many consider him the top offensive talent in Ohio for the 2013 class with his performance.
Despite Moeller scoring on six of its first nine possessions, Middletown behind Marshall looked to keep pace using their high powered triple-option attack.
The Middies would ground out 419 yards on the ground but come up short 42-30 on the night. However, Marshall would show why he's considered by Scout.com to be one of the top talents in the Midwest rushing for 296 yards on 29 carries with two touchdowns.
Projected as a running back or wide receiver, Marshall would be sacked twice on the night and throw two costly interceptions that helped Moeller earn the win as the two teams combined for 861 yards of total offense in front of a large crowd.
With the ball in his hand, Marshall can be hard to stop using several moves, spins, and jab steps in making defenders miss. He has the skills to be a major offensive weapon in any offense and the Spartans are sure to get in the hunt for this top talent in the 2013 class.
