With their battle against each other is only days away, Michigan State and Georgia joined forces for a good cause on Tuesday.
With head coaches who believe in giving back, five members of Michigan State
and six members of Georgia
put aside thoughts of their upcoming Outback Bowl battle to take part in a visit to St. Joseph's Children's Hospital of Tampa on Tuesday afternoon.
Representing the Spartans were Skyler Burkland, Bennie Fowler, Tyler Hoover, Kevin Pickelman and Johnathan Strayhorn. Each of the Spartans is injured and unable to compete in Monday's game.
Their counterparts from the Bulldogs included Jarvis Jones, Brandon Boykin, Drew Butler, Ben Jones, Aaron Murray and Orson Charles.
"It's a great opportunity to give back to the community and the little kids of Tampa," said Fowler. "It shows how truly blessed we are to play the game that we play, and to see things from a different perspective."
Players gave the children t-shirts and posters while also signing autographs during their visit.
