Here are some of the names the Spartans are looking to closeout the class with.
Moeller High School head coach John Rodenberg has stated star wide receiver Monty Madaris will be making his college decision known Wednesday. Calls to Madaris have gone unanswered as to how his unofficial visit went this past weekend to Michigan State. However, one rumor out there had Madaris heading to East Lansing with plans of giving Michigan State head coach Mark Dantonio his pledge.
The other part of the rumor had Dantonio not willing to accept the Cincinnati (Ohio) wide receivers commitment due to there not being room in the class. Both parts of this are just rumor, Madaris made a return trip to give a final look and if he would have given his pledge to Dantonio during his visit it would have been taken with open arms.
Madaris will pick between the Spartans and hometown team Cincinnati. Why do the Bearcats have a chance in this dance? Because cousin Rodriguez Coleman who signed in 2011 is expected back in the UC program this season.
Despite his pledge to Ohio State, Adolphus Washington is still hearing from the Spartans. While turning the Buckeye pledge would be a tall order, SpartanDigest.com has been told an in-home visit has been agreed upon from the Washington camp. It looks as if the friendship between Taft High School basketball coach Mark Mitchell and Harlon Barnett is helping with this second chance.
The Spartans made an in-home visit to Oak Forest (IL) running back Tevin Coleman on Tuesday night despite the fact Coleman gave his pledge to Indiana early in the month.
While there is still a chance Coleman could make a switch before signing day, the fact is his family feels Coleman is just a short time from taking his talents to the NFL and they are looking for a promise of playing time as a true freshman before they will look at making a jump.
Give Dan Roushar credit on staying on Coleman during the past few months and as many know the Spartans under Dantonio have never been afraid to play true freshmen if they can prove they are the best player for the job. However, Spartan fans also know Dantonio is not one to make empty promises to gain an edge during the recruiting process.
The Spartans are still in the running for Cox with several sources having the Green & White favored to sign the Jeannette (PA) standout. Tuesday, Cox made it known Wisconsin will earn his last official visit over Pittsburgh and Notre Dame.
The Iowa soft verbal had the Spartans in for a visit and the next step for Johnson is to agree to make an official visit this weekend. If Johnson takes the official the signs are strong the Spartans have moved into the driver seat. If not, look for another option to pop up as Terrell Jackson is still a possible target.
Jackson and MSU have been in constant contact and it was MSU who encouraged Jackson to make a visit to Pitt this past weekend. They've also told him the door is still cracked and depending upon how things play out he could get a call to make a trip to East Lansing and be issued an official offer upon arrival.

Dantonio and his staff did a wonderful job of getting the members of the 2012 class on campus this past weekend. The strength of the Spartans program these past three seasons has been the tight knit group the Spartans have become. The whole goal of the weekend was to get this process started early with the 2012 class to carry on the dynamic.
The long and athletic Winston has seen the Spartans make an in-home visit with hopes of getting him on campus this weekend for an official visit. Winston knows he's going to be leaving Alabama and now it's a matter of how far is he willing to go as it will come down between the Spartans, Clemson and his original verbal Arkansas. If the Spartans can earn this signature Winston will have a great chance to become a great one for the Green & White.
