"I had a chance to connect with Tyler O'Connor the quarterback out of Ohio," said Jones. "We even threw the ball around some."
While Jones made fast friends with the guy who will be responsible to throwing his way in the future, he also made sure to build some new relationships.
While Jones is making fast friends with his future teammates, there is one future Spartan he's already had a chance to bond with. Josiah Price and Jones first met this past summer. Since then the two have been in constant contact with each other.
"I met Josiah for the first time during summer camp and talked with him during camp. I was already committed then and ever since he committed we've been talking and get along great."
While his official visit didn't have any surprises, Jones knows next Wednesday is fast approaching and he's ready to make things official.
"I've been waiting for this for some time now," he said. "It seems like it's been like forever since I committed. I'm just ready for it to be official as I've been waiting for so long."
With the Spartans losing a couple of tight ends from this past seasons squad, Jones knows there could well be a chance he could see the field early. Has he spoken with the staff about these chances?
"I've not spoken much with them about me starting," said Jones. "I know there will be some spots open and that is just making me work harder and harder to improve my game. I hope these improvements allow me to see some of the field next year."
