Possible Official Visit Primer

We've not received official word of this possible official visit at the time we posted this article. However, we made the decision to post this just in case the visit happened later this weekend or early next week.

The countdown to signing day is fast approaching and a change at the top for Rutgers has players looking at other options before they put their signature to paper.

As we stated in the opening, there is a very good chance this player makes the decision to visit this Michigan State in the next 48-72 hours. However, depending upon what happens at Rutgers and at MSU this weekend, it may not happen at all.

Julian Pinnix-Odrick – Defensive End

School: Montclair (New Jersey)

Height: 6'5

Weight: 265 lbs.

Scout.com Position Rank: #72 Defensive Tackle (3-Star)

Schools under consideration: Rutgers (soft verbal), Syracuse, Michigan State

What this visit means: The Spartans may not need Pinnix-Odrick to visit depending upon the success they have with another official visitor this weekend. Pinnix-Odrick is a player the Spartans have kept their eye on and feel comfortable with if things would be open for another defensive end.

Pinnix-Odrick's head coach John Fiore told Sam Hellman of ScarletReport.com the following on Friday.

"I've pretty much spent the last day with him attached at the hip," Fiori said. "He's looking for answers like everyone else, but I think he's about 50 percent committed to Rutgers for now.

"I think if Kyle Flood or Frank Cignetti got the job, Julian would be OK," Fiori said. "If it is a coach from the outside, he would have to meet that coach before he could make an educated decision."

SpartanDigest.com Note: There is a chance the Spartans will not need a visit from Pinnix-Odrick when the weekend is over. If there is an opening, look for a possible visit if Rutgers has not named a coach by National Signing Day.
