There is a lot to like when looking at Demetrious Cox as a football player. Here is our first quick look at the newest member of the Spartans 2012 recruiting class.

Demetrious Cox was a highly sought after prospect holding major offers from rival Big Ten programs and Notre Dame to name a few. All-American who many considered a playmaker from the safety position with a chance to play early in his career. Great physical size at 6-foot-1, 185-pounds.

The biggest knock on Cox is his overall speed. However, on film he shows the ability to close quickly and seems to always be around the ball.

A four-star safety (#8 safety in country) who Mark Dantonio beat Ohio State, Wisconsin and Penn State for. Should be able to come in early and compete while also giving the Spartans a solid special team's player early. Cox is a big addition to the Spartans class and shows Spartan fans Dantonio and his staff are fully capable of fighting for the top players in the country.
