All Spartan: Monty Madaris

Closing out the class with another top receiver will give Mark Dantonio much depth in the years to come. We look at new Spartan wide receiver Monty Madaris.

Monty Madaris
Cincinnati (OH) Moeller HS
6-2 / 190 lbs. Ranking: Wide Receiver #26 overall

Fellow incoming wide receivers: Aaron Burbridge, Kyle Kerrick, MacGarrett Kings

Allen Trieu on Madaris: Had a chance to see him a couple times throughout his career and always came away impressed. He's always been a good sized kid with ball skills, but seeing him at last summer's MSU camp, I saw a gear and a burst I didn't know he had. He's good in the open field and should make a lot happen after the catch. I was surprised he didn't get more offers and I think he'll be a very good one for the Spartans.

Mark Dantonio on Madaris: "Monty is an outstanding athlete who attended our camp twice. He's a big-bodied wide receiver who reminds me of B.J. Cunningham. He possesses raw speed and is very instinctive. He's also tough and an outstanding blocker. He was one of the top players in Cincinnati in one of the most competitive conferences in the nation. Monty is the third player that we've recruited from Moeller High School – the past two (Greg Jones, Marcus Rush) have been great ones."
