Douglass Updates Interest In Spartans

Ohio defensive back Ross Douglas has made a couple of trips to the Michigan State campus including the other week to catch the Spartans battle rival Michigan in basketball. How much interest does Douglas have in MSU?

Avon, Ohio defensive back Ross Douglas already holds nine verbal scholarship offers. However, Michigan State, a program the 5-foot-11, 180-pounder holds a high regard for has yet to offer.

How was his most recent visit to the MSU campus?

"I had a good time," said Douglas. "I get along with Coach (Pat) Narduzzi and Coach (Harlon) Barnett real well.

"Michigan State is right up there with everybody else. Everyone is at the top right now as it's early in the process. It would mean a lot to earn an offer from them and it would give me another option."

One reason Douglas is interested in hearing from the Spartans about his status is the fact he desires to be an early enrollee.

"I'm not running tack this year so I can continue to work out and concentrate on my academics," explained Douglas. "Right now the plan if for me to graduate high school early and get to college."

The Spartans coaching staff has been upfront with Douglas as they continue to evaluate his talents. Could there be a return trip to MSU for camp?

"There are no plans on any combines or camps right now," said Douglas. "I'm sure there will be a couple but I'm not sure which ones right now."
