Ohio Safety Pledges Spartans

With Michigan State holding a major Junior Day on campus Saturday afternoon it was expected to have several prospects earn offers. Before the night was over, one gave his pledge to wear the Green & White.

Saturday night Michigan State added their third verbal commitment to the Class of 2013 when Warren (OH) Harding safety Jalyn Powell gave Spartans head coach Mark Dantonio his verbal pledge.

SpartanDigest.com first spoke with Powell's mother Lashonda Coleman to confirm the pledge.

"Yes, Jalyn committed to go to Michigan State tonight," said Coleman. "We're so excited for him as we've had a couple of family members go to Michigan State and play."

Coleman expanded upon the former Spartans who gave her son positive feedback about the MSU program.

"Lavaile Richardson and Chris L. Rucker were the family members who played for Michigan State," Coleman explained.

SpartanDigest.com will have more with the newest member of the Spartans 2013 recruiting class coming soon.
