Houston Loves the Spartans

Dublin (OH) Scioto running back William Houston competed in the Nike Football Sparq Combine with over 1,500 high school prospects on Saturday. One program Houston is high on is Michigan State. Have the Spartans been in contact?

With an offer from Bowling Green running back William Houston of Dublin (OH) Scioto is hoping his performance on Saturday at the NFSC will show other programs he's got the skills to play major college football. One program the 6-foot, 220-pound Houston hopes to hear from is Michigan State.

"I have a lot of interest in Michigan State," explained Houston. "They came after me when I was a sophomore so since then my heart has been there. Michigan State is a great school and Coach (Mark) Dantonio is a great coach.

There whole staff is amazing, so if they come around they'll be at the top of my list along with some other schools."

Those other schools showing interest are starting to grow.

"I'm hearing from Wisconsin, Nebraska, Northwestern, Duke, Cincinnati and Ohio State has also been showing interest," said Houston. "This summer I'm planning on camping with some of them as well as Notre Dame and Missouri. Ohio State wants to see my on defense as a linebacker."

How did Houston feel about his performance on Saturday?

"Today I feel like it went real well," he said. "I came out to compete with everyone and got a decent ranking. I'm proud of myself in the shuttle and the medicine ball throw.

"So everything went well as all the hard work is starting to pay off. However, I'm definitely going to keep grinding and improving."
