Redding Talks Spartans

Michigan native Teo Redding spent Saturday improving his stock status with another impressive showing at the Nike Football SPARQ Combine. Afterwards, Redding spoke with about his recent Junior Day visit and more.

As one of the Top 50 performers at Saturday's Nike Football SPARQ Combine, Teo Redding continues to raise his stock as a player with some of the tools to play at the next level.

A few weeks ago Redding visited Michigan State for a Junior Day. How did that visit go?

"Michigan State's Junior Day was very fun," said Redding. "I learned a lot about the school I didn't know as they took us around the school and showed us the football field and all the trophies they have won over the years."

While there Redding got a sense for how excited Spartan fans can get during a game.

"We attended the basketball game against Nebraska and sat in the student section," explained Redding. "With all the yelling and hype I had a lot of fun there."

Redding knows he must continue to improve on and off the field if he's to have a shot at earning a scholarship from MSU.

"I've been working hard in the weight room on my squat and bench," explained Redding. "I want to show coaches I can run a lot better than I use to run the forty because I use to be real slow.

"So my goal is to show people I've improved and got better and show them I'm a better player and one of the best receivers out there."

What other programs have been showing Redding interest?

"I'm hearing from Notre Dame, Cincinnati, Syracuse, Iowa, Western Michigan, Central Michigan and Indiana," said Redding.

With the Spartans in a numbers crunch for the 2013 class, Redding may have to attend camp to pick up an offer from MSU. will continue to follow any developments between Redding and the Spartans.
