Another Barksdale Looking at MSU

With his brother planning on walking-on the Michigan State football program this fall, Drew Barksdale is planning a spring game visit to check out the Spartans. We have the latest on the Ohio athlete and his interest in MSU.

One of the prized walk-on prospects Mark Dantonio was able to secure after signing day was Solon, Ohio wide receiver Tres Barksdale.

While Barksdale is excited about his future with the Spartans, he may also be the right person to convince younger brother Drew Barksdale to take a serious look at the Green & White if the Spartans show interest.

The 6-foot, 185-pound athlete already holds three offers but plans on checking out Michigan State this weekend.

"I've talked with Michigan State a little bit," said Barksdale. "I'm pretty sure I'm going up there with my brother this weekend for their spring game as my mother wants me to check out the school."

While the Spartans have not talked about extending an offer, Barksdale already holds three in football and is receiving interest in another sport as well.

"As of right now I've received offers from Boston College, the University of Akron and Yale," said Barksdale. "I also have offers in Lacrosse from Michigan and a few others."

A possible pre-med or business major, Barksdale knows he might have to prove himself to the Spartans for them to offer.

"I think I'm going up for a senior camp in June," explained Barksdale. "However, I've not laid out my plans as of yet."

Spartan Digest will check back with Barksdale and his bother following their visit this weekend.
