After missing the first three games of the 2011 season due to an ankle injury, Travis Jackson took his spot at center and the Spartans offensive line started to gel.
While there were still some growing pains, Jackson proved he had the tools to be a starter earning several honors in the process.
While some are ready to pencil Jack Allen in at center and move Jackson to guard, at this time Allen still has work to do in being more consistent with his snaps and is unproven.
With a new quarterback in 2012 the work between center and quarterback will be very important at the start of the season and a reason Jackson makes our list.
While we do see a possible position move down the road, 2012 should be Jackson's time to shine proving he's one of the top centers in the Big Ten.
