Ager and Davis lead Team USA to victory

The Spartan duo combined for 20 points in the USA Junior World Championship team's 79-63 victory over Lithuania on Monday night. It was the first game for Team USA in the 2003 Global Games in Dallas.

The 6-foot-10 Davis and the 6-foot-4 Ager joined Illinois' backcourt of Dee Brown and Deron Williams and Michigan forward Graham Brown in the starting lineup.

Davis was 4-of-7 from the field and 2-of-3 from the free throw line, tying Brown for the team-high in points with 11. He also ripped down a team-high nine rebounds.

Ager scored all nine of his points from behind the three-point arc, going 3-of-5 from long range.

Team USA used a 13-4 run with five minutes in the second quarter to put away from Lithuania, who at the time were trailing by only two points.

Team USA will return to action tonight against the Global Games Select team.

Ager and Davis are two of fifteen players vying for a spot on the 12-man team that will play in the 2003 FIBA Men's Junior World Championship in Greece on July 10-20. The team will be finalized by Sunday.
