Michigan State fans learned during the spring just how much of an overall athlete Akron, Ohio native Johnny Adams is when he took a few reps on the offensive side of the ball and posted a huge reception.
While Adams may look to push the Spartans staff for a rep here or there, his main goal and focus will be manning his cornerback position in his final season wearing the Green & White.
Considered by many to be a possible first round NFL draft pick, Adams has shown continued improvement during his time at MSU and this fall should his time to shine.
While many feel the Spartans have built some solid depth in their secondary, those behind Adams don't have the experience or ability to punch up 50 tackles a few pass break-ups and two or three sacks while also being one the top cover corners in the Big Ten.
Because we feel the loss of Adams for any time during the 2012 season would hurt the teams overall chances for success, he's earned our No. 4 spot in the 2012 indispensable Spartans.
