Jones Hearing From Spartans

One of the more impressive players at Sunday's NFTC in Champaign, Illinois was Jamarco Jones. We caught up with Jones to learn more about the interest he's getting from the Spartans.

At 6-foot-5, 285-pounds, 2014 prospect Jamarco Jones of Chicago (IL) De La Salle High School already holds two scholarship offers.

Sunday, Jones joined several top prospects at the NFTC in Champaign, Illinos and walked away impressing many.

"It was pretty great today," said Jones. "I got to go up against some great competition and it was a great experience to learn from some of the older guys here." How have things gone early on for Jones and his recruiting?

"I already have two offers," said Jones. "Vanderbilt and Illinois have offered. Schools like Michigan State, Ohio State, Oregon and Wisconsin have all stopped by."

As for his interest in the Spartans, Jones is already looking forward to visiting East Lansing in a couple of weeks.

"I believe I'm going to Michigan State for their senior day camp," said Jones. "Coach (Dan) Roushar has stopped by the school. Right now they can't say much to us, but he dropped off some camp information and stuff like that."

Despite the early interest, Jones is not letting things get too far ahead.

"Right now I'm not worried about other schools," said Jones. "I'm just worrying about the schools that have been in contact with me so far."

SpartanDigest.com hopes to have another chance to watch Jones during his camp trip to East Lansing later in the month.
