Ohio DB Ready to Impress

After another top performance Monday at Toledo's camp at his high school, Jaleel Hytchye is excited about this weekend and a chance to turn heads at Michigan State.

Monday found Cincinnati (OH) La Salle high school defensive back Jaleel Hytchye doing what he does best, compete.

"Competing is just a part of who I am," said Hytchye. "I'm a track guy and I just love competition. I like going out against the best and showing I'm one of the best."

Saturday, Hytchye plans to camp at Michigan State and turn a few heads in the process.

"I'm headed to Michigan State on Saturday," said Hytchye. "Coach (Harlon) Barnett likes me a lot. He liked me way back in February and Coach (Mark) Dantonio also liked me on film. I never got the chance to meet him when I went up there to visit so now is a better chance as I can go up to camp and let them see what I can do."

Where would an offer from the Spartans place among the many he's already collected?

"I like Michigan State," said Hytchye. "However, right now I'm not in the process to name a Top Five. So I can't say where they would be. But I really like Michigan State."

What is the 6-foot-0, 165-pound Hytchye looking for in a school?

"Right now I'm looking first and foremost for schools that have the major I would like to do," said Hytchye. "I'm also looking for a place to earn early playing time be it during my red-shirt freshman or true freshman year. I'm also looking for a place that has proven they can develop guys and help them reach the NFL."
