Jones Likes Spartans Direction

Last weekend Jamarco Jones camped with Michigan State and soon earned an offer from the Spartans. We checked in with Jones for his thoughts about his MSU offer and more.

While Michigan State picked up a verbal pledge soon after camp, they also used last weekend to start work on the 2014 recruiting class.

One player who impressed the Spartan coaching staff was Chicago (Ill.) De La Salle offensive lineman Jamarco Jones.

What did Jones like about his campus visit?

"I thought Michigan State's campus was really nice," said Jones. "They have some good facilities and I got a chance to work with their coaches in some drills."

Not only was Jones pleased by the sights seen during his time on campus, he's also impressed with other aspects of the Spartans program.

"Michigan State is good academically and they've been doing very well with their football program," said Jones. They are headed in the right direction and they have a good head coach and staff."

Before leaving campus, Jones spent some time with Spartans head coach Mark Dantonio and came away impressed.

"It was exciting to talk with coach Dantonio," said Jones. "He's a very good coach and very accomplished. I took what he said very seriously and it was great."
