Spence Hopes To Visit Spartans

Class of 2014 quarterback Shelby Spence has visited several programs this summer and talks about a possible visit to Michigan State.

Having camped at several programs across the Midwest didn't allow time for Chicago (IL) De La Salle Institute quarterback Shelby Spence a chance to visit Michigan State.

However, the 6-foot-0, 180-pound signal caller is hopeful a visit will happen soon.

"I'm going to try and visit Michigan State before the summer ends," said Spence. "I have strong interest in Michigan State as they are a very solid program and I like (assistant) coach (Dan) Roushar a lot."

What has the Spartans offensive coordinator been saying about the Spartans interest?

"He's been talking with my coach," said Spence. "He said he liked my film and wanted to get us up to campus to meet the coaches and show what Michigan State has to offer.

How does Spence feel about his summer after visiting other camps across the Midwest?

"The summer has given me a chance to compete and show the coaches I'm able to hang with the other quarterbacks," said Spence. "It has also allowed me to show off my new release which is a lot quicker than on my sophomore film."
