Ohio Linebacker Hopes To Visit Spartans

Dorian Hendrix knows a lot about Michigan State having watched former Huber Heights, Ohio native and Spartan standout Jerel Worth.

With offers from Ohio, Toledo, Buffalo and Illinois already in his pocket, 2014 linebacker Dorian Hendrix of Huber Heights, Ohio (Wayne) is quickly making a name for himself.

Hendrix, who fits the mold Michigan State likes from the linebacker position, is no stranger to the Spartans and for good reason.

"Michigan State is a great program," said Hendrix. "We all know Jerel Worthy went up there and had a great career. So maybe I can do something similar if not there than somewhere else. But we'll have to see what the future holds."

While Hendrix wasn't able to make it up for camp, the Spartans have been in touch and he hopes to visit for a game this fall.

However, there is work to be done before he allows things to get too far in front of him.

"This is flying by and going faster than I could ever imagine," said Hendrix. "The seniors in the past have told me it will go fast and to cherish each moment. Right now we have some lofty goals defensively as we want to improve and make bigger strides than we did last year.

"We struggled some and that's why right now I'm more concerned about the upcoming season than recruiting.
