Rush Has New Level Of Comfort

After an impressive first year on the field, sophomore defensive end Marcus Rush enters 2012 with a new level of comfort as a Michigan State Spartan.

This time a year ago, not many knew of what impact if any, defensive end Marcus Rush could have on the Michigan State defense.

A year later, Rush enters preseason camp with a better understanding of the Spartans defense giving him a new level of comfort.

"It's comforting for me to come out and not have to worry about knowing the plays or where to be at the right time," said Rush. "It's kind of an instinct thing now and is definitely a positive."

After last season's success, what has Rush and his teammates used for motivation?

"Knowing that we could be better than we were last year," said Rush. "Having the confidence that we got from last year and knowing that we need to build on that. It's going to be really exciting."

One person that always provided motivation is defensive coordinator Pat Narduzzi. How does Rush like playing for the fiery coach?

"It's fun to play for him," said Rush. "The love of the game that he has is incredible and the love of his job and defense. Knowing that he really enjoys it gives us that satisfaction as well."
