Jones Looking To Visit Spartans

After earning an offer from his camp performance this summer, Chicago (Ill.) De La Salle offensive lineman Jamarco Jones has stayed busy and added a few more offers. Where does Michigan State stand with the 2014 offensive lineman?

After an impressive NIKE football camp this summer, Jamarco Jones of Chicago (Ill.) De La Salle hit the campus camp circuit and added several early offers including one from Michigan State. What is the latest between Jones and the Spartans?

"I haven't been in recent contact with Michigan State," said Jones. "But I plan on trying to get up for a game this season. I went on a visit this summer and camped there and I remember how nice the campus was and I got a chance to meet with Coach (Mark) Dantonio and that was neat."

Despite the early offers, Jones is in no hurry to end his recruitment.

"I haven't really gone as far as making a top list," said Jones. "I'm just trying to take my time going through the process and want to visit the schools and get a feel for them and their coaching staffs. I want to wait it out a little bit so I can break down my list and make an informed decision."

Does Jones have a timeline in place to make his decision?

"Right now I may make the decision before my senior season starts," said Jones. "But I will still probably take at least three official visits."

As for a return trip to East Lansing, Jones has a game in mind.

"Right now we're looking to visit for the Michigan State game against Notre Dame ," said Jones. "But we'll have to see how things go."

What could change his future visit plans is the start of his junior season.

"Our season starts on August 24 and I'm looking forward to it," said Jones. "We've been knocking on each other all summer and now it's time to start hitting up on some other people."
