The Spartans won the recruiting battle for Finley and Spartan fans should be extremely excited about the future he could have wearing the Green & White.
WHAT TO LIKE
The physical size of Dennis Finley will allow him to enter Michigan State and battle for a spot on the two-deep early in his career. Pulling Finley out of Cass Tech could also pay dividends in the near future with other top prospects. Nevertheless, if Finley is the only prospect out of the school in the next three or four years, he'll be well worth it.
A natural bender, Finley had little problem handling speed rushers during the several camps he attended and plays a solid enough schedule to be tester prior to enrolling at MSU.
WHAT MAY BE A CONCERN
Until his name is on an official letter of intent Spartan fans will have in the back of their mind the number of Cass Tech kids that have spurned MSU in the past. The only area of concern physically is the amount of time needed to have Finley strong enough to take the field. While we would expect a redshirt year, you never know with depth problems at the college level.
This is a great pickup for Michigan State as they penetrate a program Spartan fans feel steers kids away from East Lansing. It is also a great pickup on the field as Finley is right up there with current Spartan offensive tackle Skyler Burkland in terms of his ability.
This is not a project needing to add 50-pounds, Finley just needs time to refine his technique and be physically strong enough to battle in the trenches of the Big Ten.
Spartan fans should be very excited about getting Dennis Finley.
