Spartan Digest Top Spartans - Boise State

Spartan Digest names out Top Spartans from Friday night's 17-13 victory over Boise State. We're sure you know who one of our recipients will be, but who joins him?

Spartan Digest takes this time to recognize a couple of members of the Michigan State football program by handing out our Top Spartan honors for those Spartans we feel played a huge role in the Spartans success on the field.

Each week during the season we'll give out Top Spartans honors to the following.

Top Spartan: The one player who played the biggest role in the success of the team in that week's game.

Top Spartan Offense: Player other than the Top Spartan who helped the offense to have success on the field.

Top Spartan Defense: Player other than the Top Spartan who helped the defense to have success on the field.

Top Spartan

Le'Veon Bell – Running Back

Bell was the workhorse on the night as he rushed 44 times for 210 yards and two touchdowns against Boise State. He also pulled down six balls for another 55 yards while powering the Spartans offensive attack. Bell's totals provided the Spartans with 57% of their offense on the night.

Top Spartan Offense

Dion Sims – Tight End

Sims posted seven catches for 65 yards on the night and became the main target for quarterback Andrew Maxwell when he needed one the most. This could be the year the massive tight end becomes the player Spartan fans have expected him to become.

Top Spartan Defense

Max Bullough – Linebacker

Bullough led the Spartans with seven total tackles on the night. The leader of the Spartans defense called a solid game as the Spartans held the Broncos to only 206 total yards of offense and a 1.5 yard per rush average.
