Randy Griffin, a 6-foot-4, 195-pound, wide receiver from Lockport, Illinois will be a prospect to keep an eye on in 2003.
Griffin was brought up to the varsity as a sophomore during the Porter's play-off run in 2001.
"Randy has deceptive (4.5) speed," said Lockport Head Coach Brett Kooi. "He's a big, fast track guy that will go up and get the ball and make big catches."
Griffin is also a stand-out on the hardwood where he averages double digits for the Lockport basketball team.
Which sport does he like best, football or basketball?
"Definitely football." Griffin said. "I've always loved football.
"Bowling Green, Purdue, Michigan, Ball State, Illinois, Northwestern, Toledo, Michigan State and Colorado called me during the May Evaluation period.
"My favorites right now are Michigan State, Michigan, Illinois, Purdue and Notre Dame. I don't have any offers yet."
Griffin caught 12 passes last year for 200 yards and he scored two touchdowns. His numbers should go up this year with the departure of all-state receiver Spencer Jensen.
