For Saxton, the visit allowed him to learn more about the program but left him wanting a little more.
"I've been in contact with coach (Mike) Tressel," said Saxton. "He's been sending me messages and wishing me luck and so forth. However, I didn't really get a chance to see any of the Michigan State coaches because we got there late.
"However, I just went up to watch the game but came away really loving the atmosphere at Michigan State as there were a lot of people excited about the game of football. I wish I could have talked with some of the coaches, but there were a lot of recruits there. I enjoyed the game, but I missed that opportunity. Overall, it was a very good experience."
One thing Saxton is looking at in the future is a possible camp date with the Spartans.
"I think there is a very good chance to go up there in the summer to camp," said Saxton. "I didn't get a chance to go up there this past summer, but I'll look at camping there and at the other schools that have offered me. That way I'll get another feel for the schools and their coaches."
With early offers from Northwester, Illinois, Wisconsin, Purdue and Toledo, Saxton looks to be one of Ohio's top targets in the 2014 class and a player the Spartans will be keeping a close eye on going forward.
