5 To Watch: Iowa Offense

We look at five key players from the Iowa offense Michigan State fans should know going into Saturday's game against the Hawkeyes.

Saturday's battle between Michigan State and Iowa should be a hard fought battle on both sides of the ball. In this look at the visiting Hawkeyes, we look at five key players on the offensive side of the ball.

#45 Mark Weisman – Running Back (6-0, 225) Sophomore

The biggest surprise for the Hawkeyes is Weisman who entered the season as the co-second team fullback. At this point he's Iowa's leading rusher with 515 yards and seven touchdowns and has proven to be a hard back to bring down as evident by the fact he's only loss four yards on 74 carries this season. While not a major threat, Weisman can also catch the ball out of the backfield when needed. Joined Hawkeyes program in 2010 as a walk-on and did not see game action last season.

#16 James Vandenberg – Quarterback (6-3, 212) Senior

Vandenberg is a three time letter winner for the Hawkeyes and has thrown every pass this season hitting on just over 58% of them. While he's only thrown two interceptions, he's also only thrown two touchdowns. Known for hitting touchdown passes for over 20 yards.

#6 Keenan Davis – Wide Receiver (6-3, 215) Senior

Veteran receiver leads the Hawkeyes this season with 26 catches for 308 yards and no touchdowns who is on pace to surpass his 50 reception four touchdown season of a year ago.

#86 C.J. Fiedorowicz – Tight End (6-7, 265) Junior

The Illinois native entered the 2012 season having already played in 26 career games as a Hawkeye. Last season Fiedorowicz recorded 16 catches for 167 yards and three touchdowns while also playing a major role in the Hawkeyes strong rushing attack as an extra blocker. So far this season the junior has pulled down 15 receptions for 175 yards.

#53 James Ferentz – Center (6-2, 284) Senior

The son of the Hawkeyes head coach is a veteran having started all 13 games during the 2011 season for the Hawkeyes. Named to the Rimington Trophy preseason Watch List, Ferentz brings a high football IQ and has earned his way up the Hawkeyes depth chart during his career.
