Spartan Digest Take: Justin Williams

We give our initial thoughts on Michigan State pledge Justin Williams.

The first thing that stands out when you watch Justin Williams on video is the speed he brings to both sides of the ball. Capable of playing receiver, running back or cornerback, Williams should also be looked upon to provide help on special teams.

Defensively Williams is not afraid to come up and defend the run and makes sure receivers know he's around with a hard hit.

For a player with true track speed and football ability you would expect Williams to be holding offers from several BCS programs. The fact only Purdue and South Carolina are from major conferences will have some wondering what the Spartans coaching staff saw.

Over the years Mark Dantonio and his staff have proven without a doubt their ability to evaluate talent and then develop them into all-conference performers. Why should anyone doubt what the Spartans will be able to do with a player with the speed and athletic ability shown by Williams on film?

Adding speed on the field is a must as the Spartans look to stay at the top of the Big Ten and Justin Williams will provide they type of play making abilities needed to compete for high end bowl appearances and Big Ten title chases.
