McDowell Talks Spartans

Sunday found Detroit (Mich.) Loyola lineman Malik McDowell in Southwest Ohio working to improve his game at the Core 6 Showcase. McDowell spoke with SpartanDigest.com about his recent visit and interest in the Spartans.

With more offers than he knows about, Malik McDowell knows Michigan State is a program of high interest early in the recruiting process.

"I like the Spartans," said McDowell. "They come up to my school a lot and are recruiting me really hard. I like the school's atmosphere and have a couple of family members that go to school there. So it would be nice to go there."

Tuesday night, McDowell felt the Spartans love first hand as he visited for the Spartans battle against rival Michigan.

"Tuesday night was really fun," said McDowell. "The fans were really into it and I loved the chants that they wanted me. So it was really nice."

Why was McDowell spending his Sunday working on his game when he could have been sitting at home?

"I just want to keep showing I'm not a one-time thing," said McDowell. "I want to show that I can do this on a regular basis."
