Armstrong Sees Spartans As Family

Ka'John Armstrong is starting to come out of the shadows and looking to earn an offer from Michigan State. What has made Armstrong feel so strongly about the Spartans?

Detroit (MI) Loyola lineman Ka'John Armstrong may be getting overshadowed by his teammate Malik McDowell. However, following his performance at a recent Core 6 Combine in Cincinnati, Ohio, Armstrong may soon be finding his own suitors including Michigan State.

What would an offer from the Spartans mean to the 6-foot-4, 275-pound Armstrong?

"It would be a great thing to be offered by Michigan State," said Armstrong. "They already treat me like family and I already consider myself part of the team."

One reason for the Spartans strong showing is the job wide receivers coach Terrence Samuel has done in making Armstrong feel special.

"Coach Samuel is a great coach, a mentor and a friend you can talk to about anything," said Armstrong.

While others may have stayed away from attending an early combine on a Sunday in another state, Armstrong knows what he was looking to accomplish from his day.

"I'm just trying to be the best athlete I can be and get more exposure," explained Armstrong. "I feel I've done that today."

As for Michigan State, Armstrong sees a perfect fit.

"What I've seen from Michigan State is it's not a huge school," said Armstrong. "But what really stood out was how education is important to the student athletes and how they treat their athletes. I'm looking for a great school with solid academics and a great football program. I feel Michigan State has all of that and more."
