One quarterback Michigan State is staying in contact with is two-time state champion Adam Bertke. We get the latest from Bertke about his interest in the Spartans.

With four early scholarship offers Adam Bertke is still a prospect just getting one some recruiting radars despite having helped lead Maria Stein (Ohio) Marion Local to back-to-back state titles.

One program familiar with the 6-foot-5, 190-pound signal caller is Michigan State.

"I've been talking with Coach (Mike) Tressel," said Bertke. "He wants me to come around more as I've really haven't been able to go up there. I was hoping to get to a spring practice but I don't know if it will work out."

If Bertke is unable to visit this spring the Spartans will still have hope of getting him on campus.

"Coach Tressel wants me to get a chance to know Michigan State a lot more and get to know their coaches more," explained Bertke. "If I'm unable to visit this spring there is a good chance I'll go to camp there again this year.

With offers from Illinois, Toledo, Akron and Bowling Green, Bertke is also hearing from fellow Big Ten program Indiana and many other programs.
