Spartans Tracking Young

One of the reasons Miamisburg (Ohio) High School had a resurgence on the field in 2012 was Robert Young. Michigan State has taken notice and looking to get the Southwest Ohio product on campus soon.

Michigan State continues to be looking at prospects from Southwest Ohio in the 2014 class and has a new name on the board they are tacking in Miamisburg High School safety/linebacker Robert Young.

"Coach (Harlon) Barnett stopped in school and said he liked my body size and would like for me to attend their camp this summer," said Young. "My good friend Vayante Copeland has an offer from them too."

While Young is finishing up his track season he's also looking forward to showing schools what he can do this summer.

"Track is going pretty good as I'm running in the GWOC finals on Friday," said Young. "I'll be running in the 4x2 and 4x4 and feel we'll do pretty well. But I'm looking forward to hitting up some camps and showing what I can do and earn some offers."

One thing Young likes about the Spartans is the number of guys they recruit from his home state.

"I know Michigan State recruits a lot of guys from Ohio and that Coach Barnett is an Ohio guy," said Young.

Other teams that have stopped by to visit Young and his teammates have included Ohio and Central Michigan.
