Copeland Ready to Chill with Spartans

Coming off a great performance in Ohio's high school state track meet, Vayante Copeland is ready to visit a few schools. Sunday, Copeland expects to chill with Michigan State.

Things are starting to heat up for Dayton (Ohio) Thurgood Marshall two-way athlete Vayante Copeland as more programs continue to toss their name in the hat to earn his signature on National Signing Day.

However, Copeland is looking forward to visiting Michigan State on Sunday.

"I'll be at Michigan State on Sunday to chill with Coach (Harlon) Barnett and hangout with Coach (Mark) Dantonio," said Copeland. "I'll also be hanging out with a couple of the commits like Chris Frey from Upper Arlington (Ohio) and Chris Durkin from Youngstown (Ohio) Ursuline.

"So it's going to be alright and I'm looking forward to the visit."

The Spartans continue to be held in high regard with Copeland.

"Michigan State being the first major school to show interest in me and offer has played a big role in my interest in them," said Copeland. "I have seen that I'm a factor to them and that has played a key role for me."

While Copeland recently trimmed down his list he's seen a couple of new schools add offers. However, the timeline to make a decision looks to be on track.

"I want to make a decision before my football season starts," said Copeland. "I don't want to have too much stress on me going into the season. Right now, I'm kind of keeping my choices open and not trying to limit it down to a certain amount as I've not taken any visits yet. So right now I'm still kind of open."

At this time Copeland has been told there is no need for him to do any testing at Sunday's camp. However, he will be looking to work with Coach Barnett and compete in some of the drills while on campus.
