Kinnel Awaits Word from Spartans

The depth of talent at Michigan State over the weekend covered several classes. One 2015 prospect looking to open eyes was Tyree Kinnel. We caught up with the Ohio defensive back for more about his camp experience and what the Spartans are telling him.

Michigan State fans know very well the success Jerel Worthy had during his Spartans career. The former Huber Heights (Ohio) Wayne product left a lasting impression on Spartan fans and those who have followed him at his old high school.

Now the Spartans are looking at another Warrior product in defensive back Tyree Kinnel with a decision to offer coming soon.

How did Kinnel do at Spartans camp on Sunday?

"It was real good and they really like me," said Kinnel. "I should be hearing form them later this week or next about an offer."

Kinnel got a chance to work with Spartans defensive backs coach Harlon Barnett and came away extremely impressed.

"It was good to work with Coach Barnett," Kinnel said. "He's a great coach and taught me a few things at camp."

Kinnel also liked what he saw from the Spartans off the field.

"I like their practice facilities and their weight room is good," said Kinnel. "I also love the stadium. It was great to go over and play in the stadium and it felt good."

As for the offer Kinnel desires he now must wait for the Spartans to make the next move.

"I just talked with Coach Barnett and he said he will probably be offering me later this week or next week," said Kinnel. "It would mean a lot to get an offer from Michigan State as they could be my first Big Ten offer. So that is big."
