Indispensable Spartan #27

Spartan Digest is back with our annual look at the most important Spartans for the upcoming season. Each year we come up with a different theme and this year we'll look at the 30 most indispensable Spartans in 2013. Who is at No. 27?

Michigan State saw George Perles take the field as head coach 30-years ago. Spartan Digest recognizes Perles with this seasons 30 Most Indispensable Spartans with a look at those members of the football team we feel will have major roles if the Spartans are to have success on the field.

Kyler Elsworth

Hometown: Goodrich (Mich.)

High School: Goodrich High School

HT: 6-1 WT: 222

Position: Linebacker

Experience: 3 time letter winner

2012 Season: Posted ten total tackles with 3.5 for a loss of 24-yards along with a fumble recovery, two quarterback hurries and two pass breakups.

Strengths: Player who gives his all and leads by example having earned his scholarship the hard way through the Spartans Walk-on program. Will do anything asked just to get on the field.

Weaknesses: Does not have all the tools to be a front line player but makes up for it with intensity, heart and desire.

Overall: You have to have players like Elsworth on your team as he'll do anything asked of him for the better of the team. For that reason we had to honor the senior with a spot as one of the Spartans most indispensable players for 2013.
