Indispensable Spartan #17

Spartan Digest is back with our annual look at the most important Spartans for the upcoming season. Each year we come up with a different theme and this year we'll look at the 30 most indispensable Spartans in 2013.

Michigan State saw George Perles take the field as head coach 30-years ago. Spartan Digest recognizes Perles with this season 30 Most Indispensable Spartans with a look at those members of the football team we feel will have major roles if the Spartans are to have success on the field.

Here is #17

Dan France

Hometown: North Royalton, Ohio
High School: North Royalton High School
HT: 6-6 WT: 315

Experience: Three time letter winner.

2012 Season: France started 11 games last season playing 90 percent of the Spartans offensive snaps. Recorded 36 knockdowns on the season but missed his start against Michigan with a concussion but returned the following week.

Strengths: Great physical size with the ability to protect the quarterbacks blindside. May be better suited to play guard and depending upon who the Spartans have on the field could see a move inside like he did during the spring.

Overall: The offseason has been interesting because of the talk of Skyler Burkland ending his career. If that is the case, France could see his move to the inside be over with him going back to tackle. No matter where France lines up, he should be a solid player for the Spartans and help shore up the offensive line.
