Baker Hoping to Learn More About Spartans

Ohio 2015 prospect Jerome Baker holds an offer from Michigan State and hopes to visit. We get the latest from one of Ohio's top prospects in the next Spartans recruiting class.

Surprised by the early interest he's received in recruiting, Cleveland (Ohio) Benedictine two-way athlete Jerome Baker hopes to learn more about one of his newest offers.

"Michigan State has offered me," said Baker. "I've never been to Michigan State, but I would like to go up there for a visit."

Having posted impressive forty times at the past two Nike Football Sparq Combines, Baker knows he could play on either side of the ball.

"I ran a 4.67 electronic forty-yard dash my freshman year," explained Baker. "My sophomore year, I ran a 4.5 forty. Right now I prefer to play linebacker, but depending upon my body size it could change. I like to hit people."

How much does Baker know about the Spartans?

"I don't really know much about Michigan State," he said. "However, I'm hoping to learn more about them if I get a chance to visit."

Have the early interest and scholarship offers surprised Baker?

"It has surprised me," said Baker. "My first four offers were some big ones that really surprised me with Ohio State, Florida, Louisville and Penn State. Those are four big schools, and for me to get my first four offers from those schools really surprised me."

For the Spartans to get a chance with Baker a visit to campus must happens as the Ohio native grew up cheering from the home state Buckeyes and later started following the Nittany Lions.
