Cass Tech's Campbell commits to MSU

Two-time state championship QB commits to the Spartans during visit to East Lansing on Wednesday.

The first week on the job for Curtis Blackwell has been a big one, with the commitment of Columbus (Ohio) Walnut Ridge defensive edge Robert Bowers.

The week got even as Cass Tech's standout junior quarterback Jayru Campbell committed to Michigan State on his visit Wednesday.

The 6-foot-3, 175-pound quarterback became the second commitment for the 2015 class, joining Stallworth.

Campbell has led the powerhouse Cass Tech to two consecutive Division 1 state titles.

His skills generated offers from Alabama, Notre Dame, Wisconsin and Eastern Michigan.

As a freshman in 2011, Campbell threw for more than 2,000 yards and 32 touchdowns.
