Martin had "wonderful experience' at MSU

Cass Tech sophomore offensive tackle made visit in early August and had good things to say about his time in East Lansing with many of his teammates -- and some future Spartans.

Cass Tech brought a large group for a visit in early August and one of the top underclassmen that came to East Lansing was Ostell Martin.

"It was a wonderful experience," he said. "That was actually my first time being there. I had a lot of fun. We played games or whatever and I met a couple good coaches. I just liked the whole campus."

The sophomore offensive tackle said coming to visit Michigan State with so many of his teammates made it an all-around good experience.

"That really made it better because it was with a lot of my teammates that plan on going there like Jaryu," he said. "I had a good time with him."

The 6-foot-5, 315-pound Martin is the first offensive lineman off the bench for the Technicians right now and focuses his time at right tackle, the spot held by fellow sophomore Mike Onwenu.

"We are in a rotation together, but he is actually starting," he said. "(The O-line) is looking pretty good. We just got a little bit of things that we gotta work on."

Martin is hearing from Michigan, Ohio State, Alabama, Pittsburgh and Syracuse in addition to Michigan State.
