Beckham Talks Spartans Visit

With a handful of scholarship offers already earned, Ohio defensive back Kei Beckham took in a program he's got high interest in. Spartan Digest spoke with Beckham about his game day visit to Michigan State.

The trip up and back to East Lansing for Michigan State's game against South Florida may have been a long one that left Trotwood (Ohio) Madison defensive back Kei Beckham tired on Sunday. But according to the 5-foot-11, 160-pound Beckham, it was worth it.

"I'm a little tired but I had a great time with the coaches and some of the players," said Beckham. "It was a great experience and I loved the atmosphere and how the coaches are."

One thing that stood out for Beckham was the Spartans style of defense.

"I love how they get after it on defense," he said. "I could see myself playing in that defense."

While Beckham has reported offers from Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana and Akron, a Spartans offer would be one of high interest. However, right now the Spartans and Beckham are getting to know each other better.

"Coach (Harlon) Barnett said they have high interest in me," said Beckham. "He said they love my film and love who I am as a player and person. Right now they would just like for me to get to campus more so we can build a better relationship."
