Dantonio asks fans to come Saturday

In seniors' final home game following holiday week, coach says "we need you there"

With Thanksgiving on Thursday and the dreaded Black Friday the next day, Mark Dantonio wants to make sure people don't miss out on Saturday at Spartan Stadium.

Michigan State will be hosting Minnesota and it will be a big game for a multitude of reasons, with the most sentimental being the final home game for a class of seniors.

"I've always tried to recognize the people that have come and not worry about the people that don't," Dantonio said. "But I do think it's important to recognize our seniors at this game. It's the last opportunity for a lot of people to see the Spartans play in the stadium this year.

"It's a season that has been special thus far and it could become even more special."

It also carries a chance for the Spartans to go 8-o in the Big Ten for the first time in program history and take another step toward a BCS berth.

"I'll go online as Tom Izzo does sometimes and say, ‘Hey, we need you there,'" Dantonio said. "I'm not going to be mad at anybody, but we need you there.

"If you can make it, come on."
