Cage Updates Interest in Michigan State

While Daniel Cage visited Michigan State for their rivalry battle against Michigan several weeks ago, he's kept his thoughts about the visit to himself. Spartan Digest caught up with Cage about his visit and if he'll make a return trip to East Lansing for an official visit.

As one of the top targets remaining on Michigan State's recruiting board in the 2014 recruiting class, Cincinnati (Ohio) Winton Woods defensive tackle Daniel Cage is not one to talk much about his recruitment.

Spartan Digest spoke with Cage as he was helping his mother prepare their Thanksgiving dinner about his game day visit early in the month.

"The Michigan State game against Michigan was great and awesome," said Cage. "It was a big win for Michigan State and I was glad to be there cheering with them also."

One thing that has stayed with Cage about his visit was the atmosphere of the game.

"I was surprised by the atmosphere," he said. "It really gets kind of crazy up there. They were just killing Michigan as their defensive linemen were physical and all of them were using their hands making sure the quarterback wasn't going anywhere.

"They completely dominated the game from the d-linemen and linebackers from what I saw. Their defensive backs were doing a real good job and the defense was just dominating the entire game."

Having yet to take an official visit, should Spartan fans expect Cage to make a return trip for an official visit?

"I'll be going up to Michigan State for an official visit for sure," said Cage. "I'm not sure when I'm going up, but I think it's going to be very soon."

As for when Cage will make a decision, expect the defensive tackle to take all five official visits with Louisville, Cincinnati, Missouri and Illinois possible trips at this time.
