Sweat drops to Michigan State

Vanderbilt tight end commitment flips to Michigan State on official visit.

Michigan State already reaped the benefits of a big visitor day Wednesday when 2015 cornerback Tyson Smith committed, but the week got even better Thursday.

Stone Mountain (Ga.) Stephenson tight end Montez Sweat took an official visit to East Lansing and flipped his commitment to the Spartans.

Sweat originally committed to Vanderbilt in May.

The 6-foot-6, 225-pound recruit is ranked the No. 38 tight end in the nation and is a three-star recruit.

Sweat held offers from Florida, Iowa, Georgia Tech and West Virginia among others.
